Ad Groups Say Google Shouldn’t Play Judge and Jury

Back in June 2017, Google came out saying that their Chrome browser will soon come with preinstalled technology that will block the “most annoying ads”. This week, three of the biggest marketing trade bodies went public with opposition to the plan. Interactive Advertising Bureau, the Association of National Advertisers and the American Association of Advertising Agencies sent an open letter to the Coalition for Better Ads arguing that companies like Google shouldn’t get to be judge, jury and executioner when it comes to blocking annoying ads.
