The small study had an automated system, named EpxMedTracking, to send text messages and get responses from 22 active participants.
The participants were 85.9% compliant with their prescriptions. Some of the reasons they reported for not remaining adherent were:
- 30.3% I forgot
- 26.6% I felt better
- 18.4% Ran out of medication
- 17.4% I felt sick
- 2.8% Other
The small “other” contingent seems to indicate that the top four reasons were the primary ones.
