48% of Americans turn to their primary care physician or nurse as their number one place to get a health consultation but 25% use the internet or mobile apps as their first point of contact with health info.

Meanwhile, 32% said they comparison shop for healthcare, more than vacation packages or car purchases:

Of those that used comparative shopping, and 47% of Millennials did so, 81% rated the experience as “very” or “somewhat” helpful.

Healthcare marketers should make sure that enough information is available online for patients to have an informed discussion with their doctor, and this information needs to be easy to find.
