In what appears to be a series on social POVs, WEGO Health author, Kayla Nelson, has written a nice summary on Twitter. One of the most interesting aspects of the story isn't in the main text, it is in the example Tweets.
Most of the examples in the story have typically low engagement, but there are three that have substantial likes:
- Twitter Poll with 111 results
- Patient Complaint about the cost of therapy, it has 381 retweets and 1,100 likes. By comparison, the pharma response has only one retweet and two likes.
- Realtime Response to Rosanne Barr’s now-famous blaming of her tweet on a sleep aid with 184K likes and 67K retweets
These examples show that engagement can be had on Twitter but pharma needs to tread carefully and be very deliberate with its approach to the platform.
