An article written by Sermo's SVP of Marketing, Erin Fitzgerald, looks at how physicians are using social. The first interesting stat is that 88% of them are using "the internet and social media" for professional purposes. This came from a PwC post in 2017 (and we immediately wonder if it should read "the internet OR social media" -Ed.).
It also includes a chart from a report published earlier this year with a comparison of professional HCP mentions on a cardiovascular topic on both Twitter and Sermo:
Fitzgerald discusses a number of topics in the article:
- The difference between public and private social for HCPs
- The ability to connect with colleagues globally
- Different HCP behavior on different platforms
- Understanding HCP needs through online conversations
