Americans on Facebook are posting 94% more video to the service than they did a year ago. This is most certainly a reflection of the move of Facebook onto the mobile device and shows that the world’s largest social network is alive and well. Facebook is helping this trend by promoting the content on users’ news feeds:

Coinciding with the increase of videos being uploaded to Facebook, videos are also overtaking more of the web’s most valuable real estate, the Facebook news feed. The number of videos showing up in people’s news feeds has increased by 360% compared to last year.

In September 2014 Facebook said that there were 1 billion video views per day and 65% of these views were happening on smartphones.
