Facebook at work doesn’t refer to looking up your friends’ vacation photos at 2:35 from the office, it refers to implementing Facebook technologies as the internal communications structures in a company. As of now this is strictly a rumor, Facebook will not comment on it.
“Everyone at Facebook uses Facebook for work,” one ex-Facebook employee tells us. “Most of their communication and planning is done though Messages and Groups. It would be a pretty natural thing to try to expose this way of using Facebook to get things done at the office to the rest of the world. It’s a really fast and efficient way to get things done.”
This may be a long shot, the article mentions that the project has been tried and canceled a number of times, but if it moves forward LinkedIn will need to watch its back.
