Smartphone chat apps are taking over from both standard SMS texts and social channels according to various sources including IDC. This type of social interaction is more like email than social media and is opening up another share channel for brands.
Email never really stopped being the number one way users share important, trusted, content with one another and with apps like Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp they have even more options for this private, trusted exchange.
