Social users follow brands. The latest data from Q3 of this year show:
- 86% want to and do follow brands on social platforms
- 75% have purchased something they saw on social
- 57% are more likely to buy from a brand they follow (correlation is not causation -Ed.)
The new report also shows how brands can lose followers. Some of the annoying things brands do on social that will get them unfollowed:

The takeaway for health marketers is simply be authentic. Your information will resonate with your core audience. Don’t chase numbers if you’re in a niche market, just make sure you’re giving the right information to the folks who are actually interested.
