Google+ is a new social networking platform from Google. Its purpose is to make sharing and communication easier within the various circles of people in your life – friends, family, acquaintances, colleagues, and more. Access to the service is currently available by invitation only during the initial beta testing phase.
ComScore has estimated the service to have 25 million+ registered users as of August 2011. Although the initial growth in users has been extraordinary, it is currently unclear how many of them are actively using the service beyond having signed up to try it out.
