A new company is trying to tackle the enormous problem of mHealth app proliferation: iPrescribeApps powered by iMedicalApps. For years now iMedicalApps has been writing full reviews of relevant medical apps that hit the market and have been getting reasonable traction. The new service, however, will go a step further and actually provide a framework for prescribing the apps and then reporting their results. This last part is almost certainly enabled because of the health API tools now part of Apple iOS and Google Android.
iPrescribeApps is made up of doctors and prides itself on quality recommendations so any healthcare companies that want to get recommended need to appeal to this audience. There is a good chance that an app from a healthcare company, such as pharma or medtech, will make the grade if it provides real value.
