It turns out that health data is special in the minds of US citizens. Rock Health, a VC company that specializes in digital health startups, ran a survey of 4,014 Americans and found that tech companies were lower than drug companies (though they didn't fare very well either -Ed.).
Well, at least drug companies are more trusted than the government. Seriously, though, for marketers looking to create digital health interventions this trust issue needs to be tackled.
“Google and Apple are doing the smart thing; they need the trusted partner,” says Dennis Ausiello, a doctor and former chief of medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, who this year helped create a diabetes app for the iPhone and also consults with Google.
