PEW Internet looked at the readiness of Americans to use online learning and the population is almost evenly divided. The highest propensity toward online learning was those with higher education and incomes.
For digital marketers this is interesting, but more important is the comfort level of the population with getting information from digital, rather than full-on education. Here, we see the population much more savvy. When asked how confident they were in using their devices to do things online:
- 54% of internet and smartphone users said they are “very confident”
- 32% said they are “somewhat confident”
- 10% said they are “only a little confident”
- 4% said they are “not at all confident”
