The Senior Media Planner will work closely with the Strategy, Account Management (AM), Analytics, and Project Management (PM) teams to successfully plan, implement and manage client campaigns.  
 
The Digital Media practice group focuses on reaching our client’s target audiences through the digital channel and driving actions that produce meaningful business results. The team develops and executes customized digital marketing strategies for clients, which include Search Marketing (SEM/SEO), Display Advertising, Sponsorships, Lead Generation, and Mobile Marketing.   
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
The Senior Media Planner will work closely with the Strategy, Account Management (AM), Analytics, and Project Management (PM) teams to successfully plan, implement and manage client campaigns.  
 
The role will consist of the following activities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise Contribution
    • Working closely with prospective or existing clients to understand their business and marketing objectives, project requirements, budget parameters and internal constraints
    • Developing and delivering customized program / campaign recommendations based on marketplace research and/or client discussions
    • Collaborating with AM, Analytics & PM teams to develop SOWs and gain client approvals / sign-off
    • Serving as a Digital Media “Subject Matter Expert” internally and externally, called upon to answer media-related client or internal team questions 
    • Providing POVs to the client or internal teams on new strategies, vendors, or technologies under consideration
    • Helping ‘merchandise’ the Media offerings to prospects, including the development of case studies or sales materials where appropriate
  • Media Intelligence & Research
    • Undertaking landscape and competitive analyses to identify gaps and opportunities related to our prospective or existing client’s businesses
    • Evaluating prospective client’s previous or existing online media strategies and providing insight on areas for improvement and recommended future activities
    • Conducting research on potential media opportunities for clients to reach their defined target audience online (e.g. comScore)
    • Providing relevant data and findings to internal teams to help guide strategic direction, such as keyword research to inform customer information needs 
  • Project Execution & Management
    • Working with the team to select appropriate vendors and placement strategies, and then communicating and gaining client approvals on these plans
    • Successfully executing (monitoring, evaluating, and optimizing) online media campaigns and/or supporting members of the team to do so
    • Developing and presenting interim and post-campaign results reports on key performance metrics in a compelling and client friendly format
    • Participating in day-to-day liaison with clients, including conference calls or meetings to discuss campaign status, strategy, performance, etc. 

 
Candidate Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in interactive / online marketing, including planning and execution
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing, communications, e-business or similar
  • Previous exposure to or knowledge of the healthcare / pharma category
  • Well-versed in Search Marketing (SEO and SEM) and Display Advertising
  • Good understanding of Mobile and Social technologies and associated media opportunities
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Experience dealing directly with clients in an agency setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including strong Powerpoint presentation skills
  • Familiar with industry intelligence tools such as comScore (Plan Metrix, Media Metrix, Marketer), TNS Media Intelligence (Stradegy, Evaliant), etc.
